Woogidex

A browser toolkit for designing Fakemon from start to finish, then sharing them in a community hub.

Fakemon makers usually bounce between a spreadsheet, a drawing app, a type chart and a forum. Woogidex puts it in one place: stats, typing, abilities, learnsets, Dex entries and artwork become a Pokédex-style board you can export, publish, or enter into a contest.

Local first, social second

Your collection lives in your browser, so anyone can design and export without an account. The account only appears when you want to publish, comment or enter an event.

The editor knows the games: learnset recommendations, sample competitive sets scored against roles, type matchup analysis, and a block editor for writing what a custom ability actually does.

Thought process

  1. 01

    Scratch my own itch

Designing a Fakemon meant juggling a spreadsheet, a type chart and a drawing app. One tool for the whole job was the goal.

  2. 02

    Local first

Nobody should need an account to start. The collection lives in the browser and the account only appears when you want to share.

  3. 03

    Make it know the games

Learnset suggestions, sample sets and type analysis turn a form into a helper that understands what you are making.

  4. 04

    Protect the artists

Fan artists worry about scraping and AI, so art is shielded and AI art is not allowed. Trust is part of the design.
