CESAFI Esports League team intros

Player introductions for the broadcast of Cebu's collegiate esports league: the USJR roster in Season 3, and the USC and UCLM Mobile Legends rosters in Season 4.

Every match on the CESAFI Esports League stream opens with the players. Each one gets a few seconds: gamer tag, real name, school, a pose, and the team lock-up at the end. I made the Season 3 introductions in 2024 and the Season 4 Mobile Legends introductions for USC and UCLM in 2025.

Season 4 reel Every finished Season 4 player intro, cut together. More rosters are still being added.

Ten introductions in a row

A roster is shown back to back, so the risk is monotony. Each player card changes its grid colour, its backdrop and how the name builds in, while the type and layout stay fixed so the set still reads as one league.

Season 4 opens every intro with two quick punches (red arrows, then a blue "We forge" wall) before settling on the player against a pale fabric backdrop.

Season 3 player cards switch grid colour and type treatment so ten introductions never look the same twice.

Thought process

  1. 01

    Give every player a beat

A team intro is ten introductions in a row. Changing the grid colour and type treatment per player keeps the rhythm from going flat.

  2. 02

Lock the type, move the rest

Name, real name and school always sit in the same place, so viewers know where to look while the backdrop and entrances change.

  3. 03

    Open with a punch

In Season 4 each intro starts with two hard cuts (red arrows, a blue wall) to wake the stream up before the player settles.

  4. 04

Build a system, not ten videos

One template takes a cut-out photo and three text fields, so a whole roster can be rendered in an afternoon.
