Animal bites campaign

A government-commissioned set of three posters in Cebuano that tell people what to do after an animal bite, before the myths do.

"Ayaw pasagdii ang paak": do not ignore the bite. Each poster corrects one habit: wash with soap for fifteen minutes, see a doctor instead of rubbing garlic on it, and treat even a small scratch as serious.

Small scratch, big action

One idea per poster

Every poster carries one instruction in large type, one image that makes it stick, and the same closing line: "Dili mag-tandok, dapat pawtektado." Emergency numbers sit at the bottom of each one, because that is the part people photograph.

Thought process

  1. 01

    Start from the myths

People rub garlic on bites or ignore small scratches. Each poster takes on one of those habits directly.

  2. 02

    Follow the art direction

Nikki Alexandra Diores set the direction and palette. I built the posters inside it.

  3. 03

    One instruction per poster

Big type, one image, one action. The emergency numbers sit at the bottom where people take photos.

  4. 04

    Speak the local language

The posters are in Cebuano with a playful pun in the tagline, so they feel like a neighbour talking, not a notice.
